Christina Aguilera And Melissa McCarthy Join James Corden On ‘Carpool Karaoke’

Christina Aguilera was the guest on James Corden’s Carpool Karaoke last night, and I’m pretty sure it was the gayest episode ever. I say that with full knowledge that Sam Smith, Lady Gaga, Mariah Carey and a string off other iconic female singers have also been on the show.

However, between the song selection, Aguilera’s beautiful voice, and the topics of conversation (including Britney and Justin’s relationship), I’m convinced it couldn’t get any gayer.

After the two sang “Fighter,” Corden asks about the pop diva’s time on The Mickey Mouse Club, the children’s variety show that Aguilera, Britney Spears, Justin Timberlake, JC Chasez, and Ryan Gosling were all on in the ’80s. She dropped the hot gossip that there was apparently a crush triangle between she, Britney, and Justin, and that Gosling had an unrequited crush on Ms. Spears.

“She must be regretting that,” Corden said.

“She got Justin,” Aguilera argued. “They were a big ole couple!”

“Oh right, that worked out wonderfully,” Corden joked.

Immediately after, Aguilera does the riff from “Dirrty” and the two are joined by Melissa McCarthy, who comes in on Redman’s verse. At the end, to bring the gay feelings home, Christina and James duet on “Beautiful,” and it’s lovely as ever.

Between this and her recent guest appearance on Drag Race, we hope thismeans Aguilera is on her way with new music, but we’ll have to wait and see. She’s currently starring in a new film, Zoe, which premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival earlier this week.
