Comedian Brian Jordan Alvarez Released A Feature Film On YouTube With Zero Warning

Beyoncé invented the surprise album drop, now Brian Jordan Alvarez has invented the feature film on YouTube drop.

Alvarez’s comedy style is incredibly unique and can best be described as gay Internet personality mixed with straight-up surrealism. He is best known online as the creator of these absurdist short videos like “What actually happens when gay guys see other gay guys and straight people aren’t around” or “What it’s like calculating the tip when you are gay and also super dumb and don’t know math?”

Alvarez also did a web series called The Gay and Wondrous Life of Caleb Gallo, which is a slightly meta-story that follows the lives of Caleb, played by Alvarez, and his LA-based group of actor friends. The series was described by IndieWire as Will & Grace on speed.

The film that Alvarez just released, Grandmother’s Gold, is about life in 2023, when the world is without the internet and the economy is bad. The film stars some Alvarez content regulars Stephanie Koenig and Ken Kirby.
