Detox and Vicky Vox Have Some Thoughts on Valentina’s Diva Attitude

Ever since Valentina’s tenure on RuPaul’s Drag Race’s ninth season, rumors of diva-like behavior have plagued the fan favorite who was infamously ousted for her lack of lip syncing skills. Beyond rumors of requests for champagne and red M, Drag Race queen Detox and queen Vicky Vox on Tuesday spoke out about Valentina on YouTube show Hey Qween.

When the host flashed a picture of Valentina on screen, Detox called Valentina “stunning,” while Vox questioned that characterization, saying: “She has great teeth.”

Vox then launched into a story about a pre-Drag Race Valentina behind the scenes at a show when she requested that fellow queens remove her wig for her.

“I went, ‘Girl, come here. Girl, come here. Here’s the thing. You gonna be on tour with some diva bitchessome actual diva bitchesand they’re not gonna put up with this bullshit,” Vox said. “They’re not gonna deal with it, because you have to be [self-sufficient] up to a point.”

She continued, “If you can do everything for yourself and then when people help you, it makes it better. But if you can’t do it for yourself and people are doing it for you, you’re not gonna grow. You’re not gonna get any better. You’re not gonna go anywhere because it’s being put on you.”

This isn’t the first time Valentina has been taken to task for her behavior. Valentina previously apologized on stage when rumors of her bad behavior circulated and she was also confronted for her behavior during the Season 9 reunion. When she won the “Miss Congeniality” award, Aja stepped in and questioned whether she deserved the title.
