DragCon 2017: Gurls Gone Wild

· Updated on May 29, 2018

There are few gatherings in the world that can pack so much fashion, glitter, and overall fierceness into one space like DragCon did last weekend in LA. For those of you wondering how much RuPaul has blown up drag culture into wildly epic proportions, you wouldn’t find a better example of it anyplace else, as fans threw on their sickest gowns, painted their faces, and stood it out in snaking lines to interact with and gawk over some of their fave performers. The day included a wide variety of panel discussions ranging from makeup tutorials to interviews, all completely crammed with fans. And yes, there were a lot of memorable performances.

The inclusive, family-friendly affair is a prime example of how the mainstream continues to embrace these talented women and their careers…and tries to emulate them. Honestly, if you saw the little girl caked in white make-up vamping it up as Baby Jane, then you may have discovered a reason for living.

DragCon is heading to NYC at the end of September. Meet us there?
