Kim Please

The SKIMS for Men campaign is already courting serious controversy

It was only a matter of time before Kim Kardashian expanded her shapewear empire SKIMS to include men and masc-of-center folks. And while some of the choices for the SKIMS mens first-ever ad campaign are stunning—such as artist and icon Thaddeus Coates aka Hippy Potter and Canadian point guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander—at least one of Kim’s choices is proving to be a real miss.

“If it’s not SKIMS Men,” a recent tweet announced after the menswear line preview officially showed up on socials yesterday, “it won’t get past elite edge-rusher Nick Bosa.”

Footballer Nick Bosa, for those not in the know, is a defensive lineman for the San Francisco 49ers. But before you start losing your mind over a generic pair of abs, there are a few things you should know about Bosa’s politics. Namely: they’re bad. They’re really bad.

Not long after the SKIMS mens ads came out, users pointed out Bosa’s anti-Black, anti-BLM tweets, including a few choice posts that show the footballer’s love for ex-President Trump.

Now listen, are we surprised? Not even slightly. But come on, Kim. Maybe do a little better on your vetting, especially where NFL players are concerned.

Never fantasize about a man who doesn’t appreciate Beyoncé’s artistry. Period!

Just…no thank you.

If this is a test, it’s Kindergarten level.

Even queen Shea Coulee piped up to shame the folks salivating after this absolutely average and in fact morally disgusting dude.

It’s 2023 and it’s time to stop wasting our time, culturally and romantically speaking, on dudes like this.
