Twerk Time

Megan Thee Stallion’s new challenge has the sapphics in a frenzy

Hot Girl Meg, the H-Town Hottie, Tina Snow—however you know the dynamic force of nature that is Megan Thee Stallion, one thing is certain: you’re obsessed. There are few women as talented, spirited, and hard-working as the Houston-born originator of Hot Girl Summer, and she hasn’t showed any signs of slowing down anytime soon. Last year, she was invited by Queen Bey herself to perform at the Renaissance Tour’s Houston stops, and she made every minute count. And when she’s not blowing our minds with a vulnerable new track or completely refusing to engage in a one-sided Internet feud, she’s making sure that we stay obsessed.

Take the past 48 hours on Meg’s Instagram, for example: not only was Thee Stallion proving that she has the “best butt” on IG (absolutely no lies told) by treating us all to an impossibly long twerk session, her moves inspired the Internet to get in on the action.

After GloRilla’s “Wanna Be” dropped last week featuring a smashing verse by Meg, the H-Town Hottie had our full attention. Now, after fans witnessed Thee Stallion’s commitment to the craft of twerking firsthand, everyone’s getting in on the Wanna Be challenge. And let’s just say some of the girls are dangerously close to unseating even Hot Girl Meg herself.

But there’s something else going on here…something…you know…gay. After Megan started posting videos of women taking her up on the Wanna Be challenge, heads were turned. And so were sexualities…

“It’s so hard to be straight in these conditions,” commented beauty influencer Sonjdra Deluxe. And honestly, she wasn’t alone in this attitude. On TikTok, user @ebonijune warned potential viewers to stay away from Meg’s Instagram if they wanted to stay in their boring hetero relationships.

“I did not feel very heterosexual at the end of that video,” June explained. And honestly, neither does anyone else. Meg is singlehandedly bringing women out of the closet, and that’s what we call a public service. As one commenter put it, “Megan Thee Stallion out there doing the lords work for the 4b movement.”
