Thank the Lorde.
While at the 2018 Ally Coalition Talent Show, which supports at-risk LGBTQ youth, Lorde covered Carly Rae Jepsen’s anthemic “Run Away With Me,” which invented both saxophones and infatuation.
Lorde’s version is less jazzy and more stripped shout out to Christina Aguilera! than Jepsen’s and sounds like it could almost be at home on the singer’s recent Grammy-nominated album Melodrama.
Experience her rendition for yourself, but make sure that, like Roxxxy Andrews, you have a back-up wig at the ready.
This Sunday, Lorde will compete for Album of the Year at the Grammys.
