In these dark, dreary times, despite the US’s palpable collective anxiety, no one can elicit a laugh like Kate McKinnon.
The Saturday Night Live comedian and Ghostbusters star is naturally funny, but she also works damn hard to make her characters feel fully realized. While the news that attorney general Jeff Sessions has been ousted from the Trump administration is an overall joyous one, the lack of Keebler elfdom on the national stage has one unintended consequence: McKinnon won’t grace our screens with her signature Sessions send-up any longer.
Several people took to Twitter to mourn the loss of one of the nation’s greatest comic reliefs, which could be etched into a comic Mount Rushmore if such a place existed.

How about we take this to the next level?

Someday I want Kate McKinnon to make a film about Trump's administration. Every person can be played by her. Just do it like Multiplicity. pic.twitter.com/7Pvtuv5EJ6

Many people took a more hopeful tone: this news meant that perhaps this Saturday, McKinnon would give the impression a proper sendoff.
