Revry Announces 3rd Annual Out Web Fest

· Updated on May 29, 2018

Although Hollywood is steadily embracing queer filmmakers, actors, and projects, a lot remains to be desired. With fewer restrictions than big studios, online content creators have long led the pack in queer storytelling. From shorts to web series, numerous titles have inspired their own niche followings.

Next month, queer streaming platform, Revry kicks off their third annual Out Web Fest, the first festival to recognize the best in independent LGBTQ digital storytelling. The three-day festival consists of panels, parties, screenings, and the Revry Visibility Awards.

“OWF has made a mark in the world of content creation in highlighting unique, groundbreaking, and sometimes subversive content that is too often overlooked by the mainstream festivals,” says Revry CEO, Damian Pelliccione. “In the 21st Century, short-form content leads as the hottest and fastest growing category in digital entertainment, and OWF creates the perfect forum to share multiple perspectives of queer culture that makes our stories some of the most innovative, ground-breaking, and unique in the world.”

This year’s festival kicks off May 18 at YouTube Space LA, with other events taking place at the London Hotel in West Hollywood. It will feature such online creators as Tyler Oakley, Gigi Gorgeous, Hannah Hart, and Ari Fitz. The Revry Visibility Awards will take place the final night, offering prizes like free soundstage rentals and development/distribution deals through Revry. The audience award winner will be entered into the Rio Web Fest, with travel and accommodations to Rio de Janeiro included.

In addition to partnering with New Zealand Web Fest and International Online Web Fest, this year, they will partner with Buffer Festival LA on May 17.
