After years of being the best-dressed person at the Met Gala, Rihanna will make next year’s ceremony more relevant than ever by hosting the whole damn thing.
Vanity Fair reports that the singer-turned-fashion mogul will serve as one of Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour’s Met Gala co-hosts along with international human rights lawyer Amal Clooney, and fashion designer Donatella Versace.
The gala, the Costume Institute’s annual benefit where famous people look hot on a red carpet then go inside to do stuff I don’t care about, has also picked a pretty iconic theme as well. Next year’s ceremony will be themed “Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination” and, per Vogue, will aim to “create a dialogue between fashion [and designers like Galliano and Versace] and the masterworks of religious art in the museum’s holdings.”
How will Rihanna interpret this theme? Well, better than everyone else, obviously. We eagerly anticipate seeing how she’ll top that gorgeous yellow Guo Pei train from 2015 and the butterfly hive-meets-explosions in bloom Commes des Garcons from earlier this year.
How about we take this to the next level?
