Sarah Paulson has a habit of going on The Ellen DeGeneres Show and getting the snot scared out of her. On Monday morning, the Ocean’s 8 actress appeared on the show and spoke about her budding friendship with Rihannaand, of coursegot scared again.
Paulson is just one among a score of fabulous women in the new con movie, including Cate Blanchett, Sandra Bullock, Mindy Kaling, Anne Hathaway, Helena Bonham Carter, Awkwafina, and Rihanna. Of the latter, Paulson said she’s “pretty sure” she’s friends with the pop star now.
When Ellen asked if she made friends with the “Work” singer, Paulson said, “I’d like to think I did. I’m not sure,” although she did admit that they’ve texted beforewhich Ellen insists is a true mark of friendship.
“It was a sort of daily struggle to not embarrass myself because every time I looked at her I was like ‘Work work work’it was not good,” Paulson said, miming the singer’s dance moves. She also revealed that Sandra Bullock told her to “dial it down” in front of Rihanna, as she would often approach Rihanna with terrible new song ideas. “She gives great side eye,” the actress said, “so the moment she does it, you’re like, ‘I’m really sorry. I’m sorry.’” She joked, “We’re best friends.”

DeGeneres said she would like to see Sarah Paulson and Rihanna hang out, to which I thought, hard same.
Later, Paulson shrieked before any sort of “scaring” happened, but fell victim to Ellen’s pranks once again during a “five-second rule”game, when a clown burst out of the podium between her and the daytime host and scared her silly. Ellen has had Sarah Paulson on her show numerous times, only to give her the same horror-movie treatment.
“I am surprised you’re back. I didn’t think you’d come back,” Ellen joked.
Ocean’s 8 hits theaters June 8th, and follows a group of women who attempt to steal an expensive necklace at the Met Ball.
