The Kids of ‘Pose’ Bring It Every Ball in New Trailer

· Updated on May 29, 2018

We’ve been consistently gagging ever since Ryan Murphy announced his upcoming trans-centric ‘80s ballroom scene drama, Pose.

Coming to FX this June, the show features a predominantly trans cast, and it centers on the scene made famous in the groundbreaking 1990 documentary, Paris is Burning. The show follows multiple subcultures during the ‘80s in New York, from the ballroom scene to the downtown literary scene to the rise of the luxury “Trump-era” of wealth.

In addition to some of Murphy’s regulars from American Horror Story and other shows like Kate Mara and Evan Peters, it features such stars as James Van Der Beek and Tony-winning Billy Porter. It also features the largest cast of trans actors as series regulars, including Mj Rodriguez, Dominique Jackson, Indya Moore, Hailie Sahar, and Angelica Ross.

The first official trailer gives us a glimpse at the glitz and glamour of the ballroom scene of 1987, as well as downtown culture for queer kids on the streets. While the houses compete against each other, they offer a place of solace for their own community. Meanwhile, worlds collide when the white upper-class enlists the service of trans sex workers of color.

Pose premieres Sunday, June 3 on FX.
