The New Fab Five is Here and Queer in Netflix’s ‘Queer Eye’ Trailer

· Updated on May 28, 2018

Since we’re currently living in the era of the reboot, it should come as no surprise that the Fab Five would return for a new version of Queer Eye for the Straight Guy. Although the original five has been replaced with a new crop of tastemakers, the concept and mission remain the same in the updated version, simply titled Queer Eye. But as Tan France puts it: “The original show was fighting for tolerance. Our fight is for acceptance.”

Having been over 10 years since the original ended, a lot more than our fight has changed. Living in Trump’s America, it’s a whole new landscape of sheltered minds craving enlightenment and helpless men craving a good makeover. From a Trump-supporting cop to a closeted leather daddy, the new crew has their work cut out for them. But with a team that includes Antoni Porowski on food and drinks, Bobby Berk on interior design, Karamo Brown on culture, Jonathan Van Ness on grooming, and France on wardrobe, there’s no job too big or too straight for them to tackle.

I think there is something in my mouth! #QueerEye

The first trailer has just been released, and it promises some stylish transformations, as well as some emotional breakthroughs.

“By being on Netflix, we’re able to tell more unique stories, and viewers will get to know both the new Fab Five and our heroes at a much deeper level,” creator David Collins told Billboard. “This is all reflected in the overall storytelling of the series.”

We’re already craving a visit from the Fab Five to help us get our own shit together. Meanwhile, we’ll have to live vicariously through their fab adventures.

The reboot of Queer Eye premieres February 7 on Netflix. Watch the trailer below:
