One of the best segments of Late Night with Seth Meyers has to be “Jokes Seth Can’t Tell.” Seth is joined by his writer Jenny Hagel and Amber Ruffin, who are a lesbian and a black woman respectively, who will tell jokes that Seth doesn’t feel comfortable telling because he’s a straight white dude.
The segment consists of Seth setting up jokes about new and pop culture while one of the ladies will deliver the punchline. For example, on the April 9th episode, Seth brought up that scientists are mourning for the last male white rhino that has died, with Amber coming in for, “Meanwhile, black rhinos die every day and nobody said shit.”
Seth was then joined by another guest to help him tell the last joke of the segment the iconic and hilarious Tiffany Haddish. Seth started the joke with “Denzel Washington will appear on Broadway next month in the classic play, The Iceman Cometh” Then Tiffany comes in to finish him off with, “And the women in the audience will also cometh.” She truly is a gift.
