If you were worth over a $100 million dollars and worked in fashion, you’d think your marriage proposal might be really grand and eccentric. That’s why Marc Jacobs’ Chipotle proposal to his underwear model boyfriend, Char Defrancesco, was so out of left field.
According to a video post on Jacobs’ Instagram, the couple was audience to a flashmob performance of “Kiss” by Prince right before he popped the question. The video shows the couple crying after Jacobs gets down on one knee and being applauded by everyone in the restaurant.
Yesterday was also Defrancesco’s birthday, so it’s possible he was expecting the Chipotle flashmob to be his present, which is honestly even better.
The internet had a lot to say about this proposal. A lot of people were confused or felt it was dumb, but if you have that much money, I don’t think it really matters where you get engaged. It could be a five star restaurant, but wouldn’t you rather wear sweatpants?

IN A CHIPOTLE THOUGH? Romance really is dead.

People are confused about Marc Jacobs proposing in Chipotle. I’m more confused that anyone would still trust a burrito from Chipotle.
