Bram Stoker’s Dracula is already quite a queer text, not to mention the brilliant 1992 Francis Ford Coppola film that makes the novel’s gayness truly leap off the page and onto the chaotic screen.
The film certainly wasn’t the first or last time a queer creator put their own spin on the Dracula story. In first voume of the the upcoming VIZ Signature manga #DCRL midnight children, with a story and art by Shin’ichi Sakamoto, heroine Mina has to fight for her true love Lucy after fellow student falls prey to an evil force.
In an exclusive excerpt, we see Lucy start to fall under the sinister influence of Count Dracula, while Mina tries to figure out what dark force threatens to tear her and her true love asunder.
