As everyone now knows, Beyoncé used a Verizon advert during the Super Bowl to casually reveal she was dropping new music.

As soon as the ad appeared, two new tunes dropped on streaming services. The country-flavored “Texas Hold ‘Em” and “16 Carriages” sent the internet into a frenzy.

Given Beyoncé never did get around to releasing videos for the tracks on her Renaissance Part I album, fans are not holding their breath for videos to accompany Beyoncé’s new songs. She has released a lyric video and a “visualizer”, but that’s just a clip of her on a loop (like you’d see on Spotify).

However, a video posted yesterday by a couple of fans on TikTok and Instagram has already gone viral. It features queer, body-positive influencer Dexter Mayfield and well-known backup dancer and social media star Matt McCall. The pair perform a synchronized line dance that has already had over 6 million views on TikTok. It’s also prompted thousands of comments.

One viewer summed up the sentiment of many, saying: “When you have to watch it multiple times just to watch different ‘parts’.”

Even Grindr’s official TikTok account felt moved to comment, with a simple, “Oh yes.”

Other fans have also taken to social media to celebrate Beyoncé’s new releases.

And let’s not overlook “16 Carriages” either.

Taylor Swift

Meanwhile, songwriter and producer Killah B, who has worked with Beyoncé on her new album (due March 29), told TMZ to expect an unexpected collaboration.

TMZ asked him during a video interview if Taylor Swift might be on it.

Killah B would neither confirm nor deny, replying cryptically, “Let’s just say she’s on the approach of shocking the world.”

Expect plenty more fan videos to pop up over the coming days.
