Singer-songwriter Chappell Roan can now add Harvard lecturer to her resume.
Chappell Roan is quickly becoming one of pop’s rising queer acts. With a debut album (The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess), a coveted NPR Tiny Desk concert, and an opening spot on Olivia Rodrigo’s Guts World Tour, her star continues to rise. And with unapologetically queer songs and a campy stage presence, fans can’t help, but swoon for this Gen Z sensation.
Roan is carving out her own lane in music from the path created by artists like Stevie Nicks, Lana Del Rey, Alanis Morissette, and Lorde. And that lane took her from the stage to Harvard. While opening for Rodrigo on their stop in Boston, Roan found the time to stop by Harvard Medical School to give a lecture.
Entertainment with an edge
Whether you’re into indie comics, groundbreaking music, or queer cinema, we’re here to keep you in the loop twice a week.
X (formerly Twitter) account @ChappellRoanNow posted the image Roan with a laptop presenting to students on what looks like a presentation about becoming a queer icon. Well, with Roan’s portfolio and a diehard queer fanbase, Roan certainly knows a thing or two about becoming a queer icon. Now, it seems like she knows how to run a classroom too and fans are desperately trying to register for whatever Roan is educating the masses on.
Just a reminder, we’re in good hands with Dr. Roan by our side.
And if you need a reminder, this is what Roan’s lecture was about.
And this tweet pretty much sums up how Roan’s fans are feeling.
Everyone is trying to sign up for Dr. Roan’s office hours now.
