Fans of Hulu’s Only Murders in the Building have relished in cracking cases from their couches for three seasons of the hit mystery series. Now, they can become detectives themselves at a new immersive experience in New York City.
“Only Murders in the Building: Backstage at the Goosebury” takes fans of the show into the theater-themed mystery at the center of Season 3. In the series, Charles, Oliver and Mabel (played by Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Selena Gomez) are tasked with solving the murder of Ben Glenroy (Paul Rudd), killed just as he’s making his Broadway debut. Oh, and Meryl Streep is there too, if that cast weren’t fabulous enough already.
RelatedThe role represents Streep’s return to television since the second season of Big Little Lies.
“Backstage at the Goosebury” puts fans in the main characters’ shoes. At the Goosebury Theater (aka the United Palace Theatre, where Season 3 was filmed), fans will investigate crime scenes riddled with hidden messages and clues, including props and costumes from the show, to find out whodunnit.
Along the way, participants can also stop by the dressing rooms to sample products from Rare Beauty, the cosmetics company helmed by Only Murders’ Gomez herself. And for anyone especially devastated by Ben Glenroy’s murder, there’s even a memorial shrine where guests can pay tribute to the fallen star (no pun intended). Finally, on the way out of the theater, fans will get a parting gift as a thank-you for helping solve the mystery.
Best of all, the event is free, with tickets available on a first-come, first-serve basis. You can get yours here.
“Only Murders in the Building: Backstage at the Goosebury” is open for one weekend only, September 23 and 24 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m, and new episodes of Only Murders in the Building air Tuesdays on Hulu.
