Megan Thee Stallion? More like Megan Thee Hormone Monstress.
On Thursday, Netflix dropped the announcement video for the upcoming 7th (and final) season of Big Mouth and Hot Girl Meg twerked her way into the teaser. The rapper (in Hormone Monstress form) slid down an oversized tongue from a giant mouth to join her fellow Hormone Monster Crew to tease the new season of the hilarious, coming-of-age animated show. Fellow Hormone Monsters Maury and Connie (voiced by Nick Kroll and Maya Rudolph) can’t hide their excitement for the rapper’s addition to the series, while Rick (also voiced by Kroll) and Meg promise that the next season will be “even sexier” when it premieres on October 20.
Big Mouth is known for throwing in notable names to voice Hormone Monsters and pubescent preteens. Show regulars Kroll, Rudolph, John Mulaney, Fred Armisen, Jessie Klein, Ayo Edibiri, Andrew Rannells, and Ali Wong hold down the main cast. Whereas guests voices for season seven include Hot Girl Meg, Lupita Nyong’o, Stephanie Beatriz, Zazie Beetz, Padma Lakshmi, Maitreyi Ramakrishnan, Billy Porter, Chloe Fineman, Thandiwe Newton, Brandon Kyle Goodman, and more. Not to mention there’s an original music number by Lin-Manuel Miranda.
Speaking of musical numbers, we’re sure Meg is going to have at least one in the latest season. The Grammy winner’s media presence continues to expand, with hosting duties on Saturday Night Live, appearances in Marvel’s She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, Stars’ P-Valley, and a starring role in A24’s upcoming Dicks: The Musical. Fresh off of releasing her Cardi B collab “Bongos,” the rapper can add “Hot Girl Hormone Monster” to her growing resume.
RelatedBackstage at the VMAs, trouble was brewing, as a video showed what looked like an argument between Megan Thee Stallion and Justin Timberlake.
Big Mouth’s final season comes after the conclusion of the series’ spin-off Human Resources. While Big Mouth follows the misadventures of preteens navigating puberty, Human Resources centers on the “monsters” who monitor human emotions, thoughts, and hormones – our resources, if you will. And one episode of either series will show that this trifecta stays unhinged within humans.
But without that chaos, we wouldn’t have these animated shows filled with ROFL (and cringy) moments. Sure, there will be a large hole to fill in the crass, animated series department, but Big Mouth fans can’t wait for the last season of the series to come out.
The seventh season of Big Mouth premieres on October 20 on Netflix.
