Martin Scorsese says this actor “had that girth” and we’re all thinking the same thing

It’s not news that veteran filmmaker Martin Scorsese is winning the Internet as of late. Thanks to his daughter Francesca, creator of delightful TikToks in which Scorsese himself often makes adorable guest appearances, the Flowers of the Killer Moon director can now be seen dancing and trying to guess the meaning of Gen Z slang any day of the week. And that, my friends, is a blessing.

Scorsese is winning TikTok, posing with Kylie Jenner on the red carpet, AND taking down the MCU while still having time to say some of the funniest things you’ve ever f*cking heard in your life in order to promote his new film.

For instance: of The Whale actor Brendan Fraser, Scorsese recently said that the performer was responsible for one of the most intense scenes in the film. The reason? He “had that girth.”

Now look, we all know Marty wasn’t talking about the kind of girth we’re all thinking about. He was saying that Fraser’s powerful physical presence was an important part of his performance. But the choice of words is truly fantastic, and Twitter is running with it.

In the future, casting directors will want to know one thing and one thing only: does he have the girth or not?
