As if gender reveal parties couldn’t get any more messy and chaotic, one Redditor recently revealed the aftermath of one such party in their local park—a bunch of litter.
The post shows a bunch of confetti lying on the ground. The Redditor in question was not attending the party, but instead was a passerby who helped clean up the remnants that the partiers left.
Confetti is common at gender reveals, with the color—blue for boys, pink for girls—being used to signify what sex the child will be assigned at birth based on their body parts.
Redditors responded with revulsion. “Plastic confetti?” One poster wrote. “Ugh thank you!!”

RelatedStarted innocently in 2008 by blogger Jenna Karvunidis, the trend has now spawned endless extravagant variations and several deaths.
“I still can’t believe the lengths people will go just to make a deal about their baby having a p*nis,” another noted.
“Can’t believe they blew the baby up like that,” another tongue-in-cheek commenter wrote.
Gender reveal parties have caused even worse disasters in the past. One New York pigeon died after being dyed pink, while another in party in Brazil led to a waterfall being dyed blue, with the couple in question investigated for environmental damage.
The worst one was when in 2021, a wildfire caused by one party’s fireworks led to the injuries of 13 people, the death of one firefighter, and the torching of tens of thousands of acres in the disaster’s wake. The couple was charged with involuntary manslaughter and was ordered to pay $1.8 million in damages.
