“Everybody deserves love, acceptance, and good cake.”
While the Supreme Court hears arguments on the “gay wedding cake” case next week, Chicago bakery owner and trans woman Jennivee Vailoces will be doing what she does best: turning it out with LGBT-friendly cookies, cupcakes, brownies, and pastries at her Chicago bake shop.
Jennivee’s, located in the queer-friendly Boystown neighborhood, is quickly becoming a local staple thanks to Vailoces’ inclusive attitude and her lush purple velvet cake, which gets its color from the purple ube yam popular in her native Philippines.
Check out the video above to learn more about Vailoces’ big plans for Jennivee’sand to get a glimpse of that glam purple cake.
