“I didn’t see greeting cards for people of color, especially African American people in the LGBT community.”
Chicago-based artist Otis Richardson saw a lack of inclusivity and representation in the greeting card market. In response, he created LavenderPop in 2004 to cater to a broad range of affectionsand he’s been celebrating diversity in the LGBTQ community ever since.
Richardson’s playful designs feature everything from gaydar and drag divas to bi pride and HIV prevention, and we can’t get enough of them. Check out the video for more, and collect them all at lavenderpop.com.
