Today we launch the first of a three-part video series called “Chi Sessions” that documents the inspiring lives and thoughts of Mykki Blanco, Cakes Da Killa, and Young Assata three LGBTQ-identifying musicians.
It’s a visceral and beautiful series exploring the complications of being hip-hop artists, black and queer and how their experiences living on the intersections of these identities is nothing like the stereotypes try to depict.
“Part of the goal of these films was to humanize these issues and to continue to push the conversations surrounding them,” Lambert recently told VICE about the series.
Each day, INTO will be releasing these films with each focusing on one of the iconic artists.
