Gracie McGraw, oldest daughter to Tim McGraw and Faith Hill, celebrated the beginning of Pride month with her own coming out as queer.

On Monday, Gracie reshared a meme from gay activist and author Adam Eli on her Instagram stories. The original post read, “Everyone Get More Gay Now!”

Beneath the post, Gracie wrote, “Happy Freakin Pride. I love being queer.” This marks the first time she has spoken publicly about her identity. In a later post, she shared an image that repeated the words: “Pride began as a riot led by Black & Brown trans activists.”

Taking after her parents, Gracie McGraw is a singer in her own right. Last year, she made her theatrical debut in the musical Babe, starring opposite Marisa Tomei. More recently, she starred in the musical The Great War & The Great Gatsby at Carnegie Hall.

Gracie has also supported her father’s long awaited return to the stage alongside her siblings. On Saturday, Gracie (28), Maggie (26) and Audrey (23) joined Tim McGraw onstage at the inaugural Music City Rodeo in Nashville. All three daughters sang the final chorus to the song “Last Dollar (Fly Away).” Their vocals can be heard on the original 2006 studio recording of the track, when they all would have been nearly 20 years younger.

Last month, Tim McGraw shared a baby picture celebrating Gracie’s 28th birthday. “Can’t believe this little bit turns 28 today!” he wrote in the caption. “Happy birthday to our Gracie! You are a light in this world my sweet girl. So much heart, soul, respect and yes LOADS of talent!!! We hope you have the best day ever and know that you are loved beyond measure! I love you my little girl.”

In 2020, McGraw gushed to People about how committed to social justice his daughters are. “They’re very outspoken in their beliefs and what they believe in,” McGraw said. “They don’t tolerate injustice for anybody, expected for themselves or for anybody else. And they speak up about it. And I’m really proud of that.”

“Gracie, our oldest daughter, is an actress in LA, and she makes me proud every day because she’s such a strong, independent young lady who speaks her mind,” McGraw added. “And she makes me proud every day of the way she lives her life.”
