Ice Spice goes from the ‘Deli’ to Dunkin with new drink collab

What happens when you mix Ice Spice, Dunkin Donuts, and Ben Affleck? A recipe for the sweetest coffee drink known to humankind.

On Wednesday, fresh off her MTV Video Music Awards win for Best New Artist, Ice Spice made her commercial debut for her new beverage: The Ice Spice Munchkins Drink. The Bronx-Native teamed up with Academy Award winner Affleck, and Dunkin aficionado, for a commercial to promote the coffee drink dedicated to fall and Ice’s loyal fanbase, the Munchkins. The 30-second snippet, brought to life by Affleck’s studio Artist’s Equity (co-led by him and bestie Matt Damon), featured Affleck and Ice brainstorming on the perfect name for Dunkin’s new iced drink that’s sure to be in the hands of many an Ice Spice fan this fall.

Their script was tight, and so were their buns.

The Ice Spice Munchkins Drink dropped the same day as the commercial and is already on Dunkin’s fall menu. So coffee lovers, Dunkin fans, and Munchkins have been able to take a sip of the new drink and there’s one thing (or a few) about the Ice Spice Munchkins Drink that stands out from the others, and it’s the ingredients. 

Posts of the Ice Spice Munchkins Drink’s recipe graphic have graced the internet and Ice’s Munchkins might be leaving the Dunkin line for the dentist line next based on how the drink is made. As a frozen beverage, ice is standard, but the amount of sugar, cream, caramel drizzle, and coffee syrup (that’s right, no coffee) blended with Dunkin’s Pumpkin Munchkins might send coffee drinkers over the edge, or at least to the bathroom. 

The nutritional information for the fall delight might shock you, being that large Ice Spice Munchkins Drink is 1080 calories. That’s same caloric intake as 4 1/2 glazed doughnuts.

Some are bothered by the fact that there’s no coffee within the coffee drink. We’re not sure what coffee syrup entails. Then others are simply concerned about Pumpkin Munchkins in their drink.

And even with all of this in mind, fans have flocked to Dunkin for the Ice Spice Munchkin Drink. Some think Ice has another win and others are not convinced. Either way, from the “Deli” to Dunkin, Ice Spice’s influence continues to expand.
