Two weeks ago, Plastique Tiara broke the gay internet by announcing her engagement to fiancé Steven on The Pit Stop, including flashing her truly enormous diamond engagement ring.
“That is a ring on your finger,” joked host Monét X Change.
“A drag ring,” Plastique agreed. “I was like, I want it to be big enough so that I can wear it in drag.”

But how big, exactly, is the RuPaul’s Drag Race star’s ring, and how much would a stone that size cost? Diamond expert Ajay Anand, the CEO of ring marketplace Rare Carat, weighed in on Plastique’s ring in a new press release.
Based on The Pit Stop episode and Plastique’s posts about her ring — including a slideshow of engagement photos with the caption “baby boy this is serious 🤍,” a reference to Ariana Grande’s song “dandelion” — Anand estimated the diamond’s total price.
“Judging by its size and clarity, the centre stone could be anywhere from 5 to 8 carats,” he said. “If it’s a high-quality diamond in the D-F colour range with excellent clarity, its value could be upwards of $200,000 to $500,000.”

Anand also commented on why Plastique might have opted for the ring’s style, including its sleek, slim band. “A thin or hidden halo setting enhances the stone’s natural beauty while ensuring maximum light reflection, which increases its sparkle,” he explained.
Plastique revealed her own design inspirations for the ring in a YouTube video all about her proposal experience.
“I first got the design inspo from this beautiful Harry Winston ring that I saw on social media,” she said. “I wanted something timeless, beautiful, sparkly, and a little extra bit of drama, and I think that’s exactly what I got, so I’m super happy.”
