Beyoncé just dropped the first “Cowboy Carter” visuals, with an election day twist

Artist Beyoncé Knowles-Carter takes the stage during a rally for Vice President Kamala Harris at Shell Energy Stadium on Friday, Oct. 25, 2024 in Houston, Texas.

Everyone stop what you’re doing, because Beyoncé just released the first official music video from Cowboy Carter. In the first of what promises (hopefully) to be many forthcoming visuals, Queen Bey blessed us with “Bodyguard.”

Now we know Beyoncé is intentional in everything she does, and this latest move is no exception. At the end of the video, she fires a prank .45 with the word “vote” draped over it on a flag. It was captioned with a message that simply says “#Vote.”

The video shows her paying homage to Pamela Anderson, specifically her appearance in Baywatch. She has blonde hair and a red bathing suit emblazoned with the word Beywatch.

There are additional scenes where she’s paying homage to Anderson’s roles in films like Barb Wire and the 1999 MTV music video awards with her outfit there. This wasn’t the only costume Beyoncé fans got to enjoy: the queen also dressed up as Prince, Apollonia, and the iconic 70s singer-songwriter Betty Davis.

But even in the midst of so many costume changes, Mrs. Carter managed to show up for Kamala Harris. She appeared at a Harris rally in Houston, where she gave a lengthy speech saying, “I’m not here as a celebrity, I’m not here as a politician. I’m here as a mother. A mother who cares deeply about the world my children and all of our children live in, a world where we have the freedom to control our bodies, a world where we’re not divided.”
