Beyoncé went platinum, and the internet went wild

The premiere of Beyoncé’s new concert film — appropriately titled Renaissance: A Film by Beyoncé — was guaranteed to be an iconic night for fashion from the moment it was announced. But no one could out-queen the queen, especially at her own event, and Beyoncé stole the show with a brand new look.

In keeping with the dipped-in-chrome aesthetic of the Renaissance era, Beyoncé wore a snatched, silver gown with latex gloves to match. The star of her ensemble, though, was a new platinum blonde hairdo, which flowed all the way down Bey’s back.

Fans immediately fawned over the new hair, noting Beyoncé’s resemblance to characters like Mirage from The Incredibles and Storm of the X-Men.

But no comparison was drawn more often than Daenerys Targaryen, and the rest of her clan from Game of Thrones and House of the Dragon. Beyoncé is always mother, but on this night, she was mother of dragons, too.

Beyoncé’s show stopping silver dress was custom-made to perfection by Versace. Donatella Versace even posted a photo of the look, praising Queen Bey in the process.

“You are a vision in Versace,” the fashion house matriarch wrote on Instagram. “You are unique. One of one, the number one, the only one!” she continued, a reference to the Renaissance hit “Alien Superstar.”

The look was styled by Shiona Turini, the stylist behind Beyoncé’s wardrobe for the Renaissance World Tour. On Instagram, Turini reflected on what it’s like to work with an icon like Beyoncé.

“I’m still processing the past 10 months — it’s so hard to put this entire experience into words, and it feels surreal watching it all unfold again on the big screen,” Turini wrote. “I have never met a harder working woman both on and off stage. Leading and directing down to the last detail. An auteur, a visionary, a mother. A Virgo. All while serving in custom chainmail.”

Renaissance: A Film by Beyoncé hits theaters on December 1.
