Chappell Roan is just a few days away from potentially winning her first ever Grammy, and in the meantime, she’s got a message for her fans.
“Hey girls I just woke up. Good morning booboos. It’s Grammy week. I am very emo,” Roan wrote in a new Instagram post, along with three selfies from her car.
“My heart feels warm and fuzzy with all the support I have been given this past year,” she continued. “I hope you can understand that this has been incredible and scary and spiritual and confusing. I’ve been crying tears of joy and grief and feeling loved and lonely and free.”

“There is so much grace I’ve grown to have for people that abuse public figures,” Roan said in a new interview.

“Ultimately, I am grateful for every one of you who gave my music a little spin and showed your ass up to shows and festivals,” Roan added. “Because yall are rockstars I feel like a rockstars 🙂 Damn I am cheesy lowkey.”
Roan isn’t just Grammy-nominated: She’ll also be performing at the ceremony, as will nominees including Charli xcx, Sabrina Carpenter, and Doechii. Roan’s post also touched on what her performance will look like, as well as who it’s for: “I love the performance we’re preparing for you all,” she wrote. “And girl no matter what, just know when I’m up on stage, all I’m really feeling in my heart is love to the queer community especially those in places where it is unsafe to be yourself. I see you <3 tootles xox.”
Despite being a first-time nominee, Roan is also among the most nominated artists at this Sunday’s ceremony, where she’s in the running for six awards: Record of the Year, Song of the Year, and Best Pop Vocal Performance for “Good Luck, Babe!”; Album of the Year and Best Pop Vocal Album for The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess; and Best New Artist.
The Grammy Awards will air live this Sunday, February 2, at 8 p.m. ET on CBS and Paramount+.
