Chappell Roan is known for putting on outstanding shows, but at her Tuesday night concert in Dublin, the goings-on in the audience were just as exciting.
In a balcony at the concert, Jenna Ortega and Emma Myers — the stars of Netflix’s Wednesday — were spotted sitting together ahead of the show. The Wednesday reunion is getting fans hyped for Season 2 of the hit show, which still has no set release date. It likely won’t come out until 2025, more than two full years after the first season’s premiere. With so little Wednesday content for fans to enjoy, just the sight of two of its stars out in public is enough to send fans into a frenzy.
Culture, unfiltered
Twice a week, our newsletter will bring you the pulse of queer culture, from the tastemakers to the groundbreakers.
Then there’s the sapphic energy of it all. Neither Myers nor Ortega have identified as queer (and neither have their Wednesday characters, Enid and Wednesday), but that hasn’t stopped shippers across the internet from hoping their on-screen selves could be endgame. Attending the concert of a lesbian icon like Roan is only adding fuel to that fire.

Chappell’s big love for BRAT
Earlier that same evening during soundcheck, Roan sung the praises of fellow pop star Charli xcx.
A fan asked Roan for her favorite song from Charli’s smash summer album BRAT, and she was happy to oblige. “I like ‘Sympathy is a knife,’” she said. “Honestly, I like every one of them.”
Roan also shared how Charli has supported her during her recent meteoric rise to fame.
“I love Charli so much. She was, like, the first girl to reach out and check on me,” Roan said. “She was like, ‘Hi, this is about to get really hard, and if you need a friend, I’m here for you.’ So it’s just so sick to see her just ruling the f*cking world and doing it her way.”
“I think so many people have tried to put her into a pop box, of like, ‘She’s a pop star.’ And she is — but she’s a club girl, and is fully living. She’s feeling the fantasy,” she continued. “it’s working because it’s her, and it’s so inspiring to me. I’m so proud of her for BRAT and I can’t wait to see her and Troye’s show.” Sounds like we’ll be seeing Roan at the Sweat Tour sometime soon.
