Sabrina Carpenter’s impact on the election won’t be short n’ sweet.
Carpenter’s work with voting advocacy organization HeadCount reportedly led to 35,814 new voter registrations and engaged more than 263,087 voters at her concerts this year, the most of any artist in 2024. Those numbers are thanks to voting drives at Carpenter’s concerts, along with sweepstakes earlier this year where fans could win free concert tickets by checking their voter registrations.
Carpenter herself celebrated HeadCount’s impact on her Instagram story, writing, “and if we missed you it’s not too late to vote today!!” She added three blue hearts, seemingly signifying her support for Kamala Harris and the Democratic party.
“We couldn’t be more excited to continue our partnership with Sabrina!” previously said Lucille Wenegieme, CEO of HeadCount. “Young voter engagement is more crucial than ever in this election, where the race could come down to a few hundred thousand votes, and there are few people as impactful as Sabrina to spread that message through this sweepstakes and her tour.”

Fans were excited and proud to hear that Carpenter had made the biggest impact to HeadCount’s mission this year. “She’s the main reason I even registered,” wrote one fan on social media.
“I knew it was the right decision to stan,” noted another.
we love a mother who knows how to use her voice

The news from HeadCount also helps shut down rumors that Carpenter was politically inactive, as some critics noted she hadn’t officially endorsed Harris for president, despite resharing several pro-Harris posts throughout the election cycle. Celebrity endorsements can be crucial to elections — just look at the power of Taylor Swift’s — but tangible actions like Carpenter’s can be just as (or even more) important.

Update: A previous version of this article underreported the numbers from Carpenter’s partnership with HeadCount as 27,000 new registrations and 183,000 other engaged voters.
