Here’s why Kit Connor stuck his hand in Will Poulter’s pants

We know the cast of Warfare are close as can be, from shaving each other’s heads to getting matching tattoos. But two of the new movie’s cast members, Kit Connor and Will Poulter, got even more intimate while acting out an iconic rom-com moment.

While playing a trivia game about each other for BuzzFeed Celeb, the Warfare boys — including Joseph Quinn, Charles Melton, D’Pharaoh Woon-A-Tai, Cosmo Jarvis, and Michael Gandolfini in addition to Connor and Poulter — were asked about one of their cast members not in attendance: Noah Centineo. More specifically, they were quizzed on his breakout role, Peter Kavinksy in To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before, and the character’s signature flirty move in the cafeteria.

None of the Warfare cast knew the answer, so the interviewer provided it: “He puts his hand in Lara Jean’s pocket.”

That answer confused all seven actors, none more so than Connor. “Which pocket? What?” he asked. “That’s f*cking assault.”

That’s when Poulter seemed to realize a hands-on learning experience might make things clearer for Connor. “Put your hand in my back pocket,” he suggested, standing and sticking his rear-end in Connor’s direction.

“Can I?” Connor asked before diving in with his hand. Apparently, he could feel plenty of detail even through the fabric: “Oh sh*t, Calvin Klein,” he joked, sparking laughs from the boys.

Fans appreciated not only Connor and Poulter’s cheeky moment itself, but the fact that Connor stood up for consent beforehand. It’s true — even a heartthrob like Kavinksy shouldn’t be shoving his hand down people’s pants without asking first.

Elsewhere in the interview, the Warfare cast was tested on their Heartstopper knowledge. The team opposite Connor was asked to complete one of his most iconic lines from Season 1: “I’m having a proper full-on…”

Unfortunately, they weren’t able to fill in the blanks with “gay crisis,” the correct answer. “He’s great in Heartstopper, but I do not remember this moment,” Poulter conceded.

The only Warfare star besides Connor who did know the answer was Joseph Quinn, even in spite of one important detail. “I haven’t watched Heartstopper,” Quinn admitted. “But you’re great in it!” he added, tapping Connor on the shoulder. How he’d know that without having seen the show is anyone’s guess — but more praise for Heartstopper is always welcome. Maybe it’ll get us a little closer to that Season 4 renewal…

Warfare is now showing in theaters. Check out the trailer below.
