The very first episode of Dylan Mulvaney’s new podcast The Dylan Hour has arrived with a bang — that bang being her first guest, Heartstopper star Joe Locke. On the podcast, Locke and Mulvaney gave their fans plenty of fun facts to obsess over, including, for any hopeful romantics with a crush on Locke, a little insight into his taste in partners.
When their conversation turned to romance, Locke suggested that they describe one another’s types. “I think your type is a little older, maybe a little taller, a little buffer,” Mulvaney guessed, which Locke agreed with.
“I like a man,” he replied.
Though Mulvaney said her taste is similar, she also had a guess as to where their types diverged: “I like a man that has really long, slender fingers, that journals in the morning and kind of looks gaunt,” she said — and indeed, Locke did not match her energy.

“No. I don’t like that,” he said. “That’s not for me.”
RelatedLocke seems like a lock for the long-awaited movie musical adaption, if comments from creator Steven Sater are any indication.“I was just like, ‘Oh, such a shame, everyone. I’ve just got too big of a bum,'” Locke recalled in a new interview.
Locke’s type was further confirmed shortly after in the episode, when he was answering a series of rapid-fire questions, including who his celebrity crush is: Henry Cavill.
Locke provided plenty of other fun facts, too. Some of his answers included…
- His dream day in London: “Wake up, get out of the house by 9:30, go for brunch somewhere, maybe for a nice walk — it has to be sunny. And then, maybe see a matinee, and then go for dinner, and then go for drinks, and then go to bed by midnight.”
- Casual or dressy: “Casual.”
- Who would win a fight between the Scarlet Witch and Sweeney Todd: “Scarlet Witch. That’s not even a competition.”
- A magical power he wishes he had: “Telekinesis.”
- Favorite book: “A Thousand Splendid Suns or In Memoriam.”
- Favorite song that brings him joy: “‘Where You Lead.’ Carole King.”
- Broadway or West End: “Broadway.”
- The Heartstopper actor who’s most like their character: “None of us.”
- The Agatha All Along actor who’s most like their character: “All of them.”
Locke also opened up about his swimwear preferences and current journey with fitness. “I’m not a Speedo guy,” he shared. When Mulvaney asked why not, he replied, “Well, I’m trying to get my ass bigger this year, so maybe this year is the year that I wear a Speedo.”
“I’ve started doing personal training. It’s really fun,” Locke added. “I’ve always been so scared of the gym, because I’ve always felt like I would be judged in that space, and it’s the first time I’ve been enjoying it.”
