Kristen Stewart stars in an upcoming queer romantic thriller and sapphics are losing it

Sundance is nearly upon us, and boy howdy is it looking queer. Not only do we get to anticipate queer masterworks like Jane Schoenbrun’s upcoming series “I Saw the TV Glow,” in addition, we get a new sapphic masterpiece starring the Queen of the Lesbians herself, Kristen Stewart.

What is Love Lies Bleeding, you ask? A sapphic love story about the romance between a gym manager and a bodybuilder. If we knew nothing more about it, that would be enough to be excited. A romantic thriller set in a gym? Dayenu!

But there’s even more: not only is KStew bringing her talents to the Rose Glass-penned romantic thriller, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and The Mandalorian actor Katy O’Brian is in the mix.

From the first promotional image, we can tell this is going to be sexy. And we’re not the only ones who are hyped.

What if they kiss in the bodybuilding movie?

Are we looking at the first masc-for-masc lesbian love story of 2024? Quite possibly.

More importantly…did Kristen Stewart and Katy O’Brian figure this whole thing out on Twitter?

Whatever the reception at Sundance, we’ll be lining up in droves to see this movie. Sapphics, hold onto your carabiners, because this is looking hotter by the second.
