Yesterday marked a significant anniversary—perhaps one of the most important of all time. Ten years ago, on September 30, 2014, the world’s best article was published, humbly titled: The Rumor Come Out: Does Bruno Mars Is Gay?
RelatedDespite how awful this already is for trans Texans, it’s getting worse.
The article originated on a Bruno Mars fan site, and is written by Ndoro Alisan. It discusses prevailing (but false) rumors that the famous pop artist is actually gay. The twist is that it’s specifically in what appears to be poorly translated English. In a pre-AI age, the story quickly took over the Internet.
Now, the internet is celebrating the anniversary of this amazing article that gave us a blueprint for the best kind of clickbait for years to come.
