Trans auteur Lilly Wachowski is officially set to adapt the hit trans horror novel Manhunt into a television series. She will be working with author Gretchen Felker-Martin on the project.
The book is set in a post-apocalyptic world where testosterone has turned men into feral, zombified creatures that cannibalize their fellow humans. It’s centered around two trans women and a trans man as they team up to fight against the feral men and a group of megalomaniacal TERFs trying to take over the world.

The book is part of a “secrets of” series that gives lore descriptions on different factions within the Star Wars universe.
The news was recently announced by Felker-Martin on X.

Wachowski also confirmed this in an interview with Autostraddle. “I’m involved in the adaptations of a couple of different trans books: Gretchen Felker-Martin’s Manhunt and Jordy Rosenberg’s Confessions of the Fox. I’m trying to do an adaption of this wonderful comic book called Cosmoknights with Emily Andras, the woman behind Wynonna Earp. It’s lesbians in space! It’s fantastic!”
Wachowski continued by talking about the need for trans representation in film.
“Some of the projects are big, some of the projects are small, but they’re all queer and trans.
“Nowadays, when I go into meetings, and I’m taking a lot of meetings these days because I’m trying to make queer s**t, I’m trying to make trans s**t, I talk about representation, I talk about the GLAAD Index and how there were only two trans characters in all mainstream movies produced last year. I’m saying there is a problem that is happening politically and legislatively that is targeting trans people, and what is happening in our industry is part-and-parcel of that. We have to do something about it.”
