Reese Witherspoon Finally Meets Adam Rippon, Unknowingly (?) Quotes Kennedy Davenport

· Updated on May 28, 2018

Olympic figure skater Adam Rippon became one of our sweetest, gayest, sweet gay princes of recent memory when, mere moments after his free skate in Pyeongchang, he told an NBC reporter that hejust “want[ed] to make Reese Witherspoon proud.”

Well, now Rippon has met the Oscar-winning actress, thanks to a shared guest spot on Wednesday night’s episode of CBS’ The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.

“This is meant to be,” Rippon said upon meeting Witherspoon, to which she responded, “This is the relationship the world has been waiting for.”

Witherspoon proceeded to extol the virtues of her figure-skating couchmate, eventually getting to his Twitter presence. She quoted one of her favorite tweets of his, verbatim: “To all those who tweet at me saying that they “hope I fail,” I have failed many times many times in my life. But more importantly, I’ve learned from every setback, proudly own up to my mistakes, grown from disappointments, and now I’m a glamazon bitch ready for the runway.”

Unfortunately, Witherspoon and Rippon forgot to cite the original source for that last bit about being “a glamazon bitch ready for the runway”! That eternally iconic line comes to us courtesy of Kennedy Davenport, the “Dancing Diva of Texas,” who competed on RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 7 and RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars Season 3.

Kennedy took to Twitter to air her grievance.
