Roseanne Barr was on The Tonight Show last night where she talked about the revival of her show, her stand up tour and her previous guest appearance on The Tonight Show when Johnny Carson was hosting.
Of course though, before any of that, we have to talk about orange elephant in the room. I’m sure the question was planned, but God did that transition feel awkward.
“With a big hit, comes people that aren’t so happy,” Jimmy Fallon said, referring to Barr’s vocal support of Trump.
“I don’t give a fuck.” She said calmly as she received a laugh and applause from the audience. There are few ways a conservative person can appeal to a New York audience and not giving a fuck is one of them. Speaking of the audience, watching the interview, it felt like no one knew how to respond to Barr.
“I mean, everybody had to choose for themselves, according to their own conscience, who they felt was the lesser of two evils,” Barr explained. “This is a America. It’s a free country I just felt like we needed a whole new thing. All the way, bottom to top.”
This response received complete and total silence from the audience, while Fallon tried to quickly change the subject to something lighter. The two discussed Barr’s Canadian standup tour as well as showed a picture from her first time on The Tonight Show back in the 1980s.
