Easter was this past Sunday. Families got together and enjoyed a lovely Spring day together. Some even used the holiday to introduce their partners in a more serious setting. Iconic out-trans teen Zaya Wade was one such hopeful: she brought her partner and publicly spoke about her new relationship on her Instagram.

The daughter of basketball player Dwyane Wade and actress Gabrielle Union-Wade has made news through the past few years after coming out as a young trans activist. She continued to garner attention this weekend after posting a pic with her significant other, Hudson, after the couple joined the Wades on Easter Sunday.
Along with a variety of family photos—including one of Wade smooshing her face against Hudson’s—she commented: “I’ve had the best weekend spending quality time with my family and s/o for Easter,” Wade wrote. “I hope everyone has had a wonderful Easter today and a wonderful Passover this week! I love you guys.”
A little bit about Hudson, since we know you’re dying to know: According to his bio on Instagram, he uses he/him pronouns and his profile already boasts several selfies of the young happy couple. Hudson wrote in his caption on his Instagram Easter post: “Passover and Easter have never been more fun. I Love You.”
How about we take this to the next level?
Our newsletter is like a refreshing cocktail (or mocktail) of LGBTQ+ entertainment and pop culture, served up with a side of eye-candy.
Gabrielle Union-Wade, being the proud mother and ally she is, also posted a family photo featuring the new couple, along with stepson Zaire Wade and his girlfriend, and husband Dwyane Wade and their baby Kaavia.
We’re so happy that Zaya is in love: She’s young, coming into her own, and navigating a lot of exciting firsts this year. It’s refreshing to see her grow as a trans woman and enjoy these very normal, teenage experiences out in the open.
