2025 is the year of thrills and chills! Queer horror fans are rightfully still hooked on Ryan Coogler’s masterpiece Sinners, especially after the news of its upcoming rerelease in IMAX theaters due to a high volume of fan requests. Unfortunately, Sinners won’t be in theaters forever, but don’t worry—we’re about to indulge in even more thrilling experiences with the upcoming horror movies.

Here are four chilling, spooky horror films the queer community is highly anticipting:

Together

Together follows a couple who relocate to the countryside. Supernatural chaos ensues, altering the partners’ dynamic. Aside from its existential perspective on marriage, the film trailer reveals only minimal information and tantalizing clues scattered throughout. 

Weapons

Weapons, starring the beloved Julia Garner, is easily one of the most anticipated films of the year. Garner is set to play a school teacher whose students disappear in the middle of the night without any answers. Fans have speculated that the movie could explore the Pied Piper folk tale about children being lured away, leaving their parents devastated. 

The Conjuring: Last Rites

This one is for the OG horror queer fans—many of us grew up on the Insidious franchise and the Conjuring universe. Last Rites is said to be the final installment of the Conjuring series, giving viewers a final case from Ed and Lorraine Warren involving malevolent supernatural entities.

I Know What You Did Last Summer

I Know What You Did Last Summer franchise is another queer horror fan favorite. This updated sequel follows the same premise of a group of teens who flee the scene of a hit-and-run over the summer and make a pact to keep it a secret. However, a hook-slinging slasher is after them for what they did. The queer community is mostly looking forward to Jennifer Love Hewitt and Freddie Prinze Jr.’s role reprisal.
