On Swift Horses seems to have everything: bisexual chaos, 1950s fashion, and Jacob Elordi getting gay. What more could an audience ask for?
The upcoming film stars Elordi as Julius, a young man in the ’50s who falls for his coworker Henry (Diego Calva) at a casino in Las Vegas. Meanwhile, Julius’ brother Lee (Will Poulter) and his wife Muriel (Daisy Edgar-Jones) move to California, where Muriel starts a secret life of gambling on horses and strikes up a sapphic affair with her neighbor Sandra (Sasha Calle). It sounds like the mother of all queer period pieces, and we’ll absolutely be seated when it comes to theaters this spring.
In the meantime, though, the internet is abuzz over the movie’s new trailer. One scene especially got folks’ attention: Calva going in for a kiss with a shirtless Elordi, then climbing on top of him for a makeout sesh. The gays couldn’t help but notice that based on that brief clip, Elordi’s character seems to be letting Calva’s take control. “jacob elordi being 6’5 and a bottom ……… is the type of greed they talked about in the bible,” one viral post quips.

Speaking to Vanity Fair, Elordi said On Swift Horses is “a sprawling, epic, non-generic love story — and I think that theme is entirely universal for every single person on the planet.” And as far as his chemistry with Calva, Elordi said the Babylon actor is “a real cool customer.”
“We had a week of intensive [prep] in the motel room, and [director Daniel Minahan] gave us a lot of freedom to run around and to play and to find that love within those four walls,” Elordi added.
On Swift Horses comes to theaters on April 25. Check out the trailer below.
