Knives Out 3 development is underway, but who should star in the third film of the franchise?

Rian Johnson’s Knives Out franchise is the whodunnit of this generation. The franchise follows the fabulous detective Benoit Blanc (Daniel Craig) as he tries to solve different murders with a web of intricately connected people as prime suspects. With plenty of mystique, entertaining storylines, and campy fun, Knives Out is a win for a variety of reasons.

And then there’s the rest of the all-star cast. Along with Craig, the O.G. film, which premiered in theaters in 2019, featured the likes of Ana de Armas, Chris Evans, Jamie Lee Curtis, Lakeith Stanfield, and Toni Collette. While the second film, which premiered in theaters and on Netflix in 2022, starred Craig, Janelle Moná, Madelyn Cline, a speedo-wearing David Bautista, Kathryn Hahn, Jessica Henwick, and Kate Hudson.

Knives Out goes all out when it comes to casting. With the casts bringing camp, deceit, and comedy to the big screen, it’s no wonder why plenty of people, queer folks included, make up the Knives Out fanbase.

Now that the third is in development, there’s a critical question that needs to be answered: who should star in the next film?

Thankfully, the internet has plenty of suggestions.

Emmy and Golden Globe-winning actress Ayo Edebiri was at top of many fan casts. And after witness her work on The Bear and Theater Camp, the internet approves of this choice.

Of course if Edebiri is along for the ride, then maybe her Bottoms co-star Rachel Sennott would be too.

Others want The White LotusAubrey Plaza acting opposite Everything Everywhere All At Once‘s Ke Huy Quan.

Some lists were simply too iconic for the internet to handle, like this one that suggested fellow EEEAAO alum Stephanie Hsu, Keke Palmer, Elliot Page, and Colman Domingo be added to the cast. My goodness.

The world needs more Reneé Rapp and if the Mean Girls star joins, one X user thinks adding Rachel Zegler, Elizabeth Olsen, and Iman Vellani doesn’t hurt either.

If they want to add Barbie‘s Ncuti Gatwa and The Jury‘s James Marsden, we won’t stop them.

The suggestions are immaculate and keep coming in. Check out more Knives Out fan casts below.
