Lukas Gage throws major shade at Chris Appleton over this one part of their relationship

Actor Lukas Gage was a guest on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen last night. Cohen did his best to get Gage to open up about his brief marriage with celebrity hairstylist Chris Appleton last year.

The two began dating in the spring, quickly declared their love for one another, and then married in Las Vegas in May. They wore matching, black furry jackets. Kim Kardashian acted as officiant and Shania Twain sang for the couple.

However, they split in November and Appleton then filed for divorce. He cited irreconcilable differences.

On the show last night, Gage, 28, conceded that marrying so quickly was, “Manic, absolutely unhinged.”

“I had a manic episode for six months. Those jackets, those furry jackets… what happened to me?” Gage added.

“I don’t know literally what went through my head, but we live and we learn.”

Cohen continued to push Gage on the reasons he and Appleton divorce and mentioned “allegations of cheating.”

“There was no cheating,” Gage clarified. He then went on to suggest he couldn’t talk further because he’d signed an NDA (non-disclosure agreement).

“Oh, god. Andy, there’s the three-letter thing I signed,’ Gage said.

“You signed an NDA? With him?” Cohen asked.

“I plead the fifth,” Gage responded, neither confirming nor denying.

“Never looked worse”

During the “After Show” section of the episode, Cohen continued to push Gage for more information on his short-lived marriage.

Gage, a big Shania Twain fan, jokingly said he wanted to apologize to the singer for “wasting her time”. She sang “You’re Still The One” to Gage and Appleton at the wedding. Gage now says that performing “You’re Still The One” for a couple who had only known each other “three weeks” was “unhinged”.

Cohen then asked one more question, which prompted a response from Gage that can only be taken as throwing shade.

“Did Chris Appleton dye your hair while you were with him?” asked Cohen. “Did he do your hair?”

Fellow guest Kate Maloney (of Vanderpump Rules) added she hoped Appleton “at least” did that, if little else.

Gage takes a moment to come up with a diplomatic answer before replying, “Erm, I will just say, while that was happening, I’ve never had my hair look like that before.”

“It’s never looked better?” asked Cohen, taking it as a compliment to Appleton.

“No. Never looked worse,” replied Gage.

Ouch. That prompted “ooooh” from Cohen and the audience. Watch the segment below.

Smile 2

Gage was on the show to promote his new movie, Roadhouse. He appears in it alongside Jake Gyllenhaal. His next big-screen outing will be Smile 2, which recently wrapped filming. It’s due for release just before Halloween.

This week he spoke to The Hollywood Reporter about filming the horror sequel. He said he was unprepared for how gory it would be. So much so that he “dry-heaved” off-camera.

“I was really shocked how intense it is on the day. You just think, ‘Oh, it’s acting, it’s gonna be fine,’ but that movie is so scary. The whole crew was terrified. That smile itself is just so creepy and then you throw the most gory scenes on top of it, I just, yeah, I have a weak stomach too. I’m a wimp.”

Gage didn’t offer any details about his role but expressed happiness at being invited to join the cast for part 2.

“I don’t say this about a lot of things that I do, ’cause I’m the biggest critic ever — I am so proud of it, and I think it’s so scary, and I think [director] Parker Finn did it again, like, he just takes it to the next level.”
