In need of some queer road trip ideas? The Drive-Away Dolls cast has a few suggestions for you. This sapphic comedy is all about the open road, queerness, and *checks notes* Tallahassee, Florida.
Written by husband and wife duo Ethan Coen and Tricia Cooke, and directed by Coen, Drive-Away Dolls follows Jamie (Margaret Qualley) and Marian (Geraldine Viswanathan), two friends who embark on an impromptu road trip to the “Sunshine State.” For Jamie, this trip means getting away from her ex, Suki (Beanie Feldstein), and starting anew, and for Marian, Jamie’s uptight and demure counterpart, it’s about visiting her aunt in Tallahassee. But a chance encounter with a group of inept criminals causes their travel plans to go awfully awry.
INTO spoke with Qualley, Viswanathan, and Feldstein about their Drive-Away Dolls experience and where their next road trips will take place.
