Dua Lipa just leaked her own phone number

Dua Lipa is in her cryptic era. Last month, she teased the release of her latest single “Houdini” by posting mysterious videos and musical snippets, culminating in a series of seemingly random numbers, which fans decoded to reveal the name of the song. Now, she’s released another series of numbers that has fans scratching their heads: her personal phone number.

Lipa took to social media to share her contact info, posting a screenshot including her phone number: +1 (917) 810-3415. “Text me… 💋,” she wrote in the caption. (A far cry from her insistence not to “pick up the phone” on her debut single “New Rules.”)

Fans who text the number will receive a message back reading, “Hi, welcome to Dua’s text community — excited for what’s to come…💕.” They’ll also receive a link to sign up for Community, a marketing company that texts fans on behalf of musicians, politicians, brands, sports teams, and whoever else needs a direct way to reach their audience.

After signing up, fans will get another text from Lipa’s number, saying, “Make sure to save this contact info! 💌” They’ll also be sent a contact card to easily add Lipa to their phone’s directory, complete with a contact picture pulled from the cover art for “Houdini.”

So no, the number is not a direct line to Lipa herself. You can hear her voice, though, if you call the number instead of texting it. She’ll answer immediately and say, “This number is just for texting.”

What will Lipa be using this new direct line to fans for? Perhaps to announce her next single, a follow-up to “Houdini.” Or perhaps she’ll reveal the release date of her highly awaited third album, which is set to come out sometime in 2024. It will have been four years since 2020’s Future Nostalgia, which cemented Lipa as a mainstay in pop music.

Beyond her enigmatic antics, Lipa is returning to pop culture in a big way after being absent from the studio. She’s even garnering praise from the likes of Adele, who said she’s “very excited that Dua Lipa is back” in a new interview with The Hollywood Reporter.

“When I first ever heard — ‘I’ve got new rules, I count ’em’ — that song (‘New Rules’), I remember saying to my manager, ‘Whoa,’” Adele said. “I was like, ‘She should be the next big pop girl.’ And she is.”

“I’m so excited she’s back,” she continued. “She wasn’t even gone for very long.” Fans may disagree with that last statement, but either way, she’s back and better than ever.

“Houdini” is now streaming on all platforms.
