For British independent pro wrestler Scotty Rawk, the last year has been defined by major professional milestones and a deeply personal revelation. As Brian C. Bell reported for Outsports, the 10-year veteran of the ring publicly acknowledged his queer identity for the first time after winning a major match, revealing that he had ended an engagement to a woman to build a life with his best friend and business partner, Adam Moverley.
Rawk and Moverley’s connection initially blossomed through their shared dedication to the British indie wrestling scene. Over time, their bond deepened from bouncing storyline ideas off one another to spending holidays together and discussing their core philosophies. Rawk ultimately realized that his default heteronormative path wasn’t fulfilling him, leading him to step away from his established life to pursue a romantic relationship with the man who had always been by his side.
The journey to self-discovery required Rawk to confront the casual homophobia he had internalized during his upbringing. By finally looking inward and embracing his bisexuality, he found both personal authenticity and a renewed sense of purpose inside and outside the squared circle.
