Rebel Wilson thinks Adele “hates” her for this reason

Actress Rebel Wilson claims that music superstar Adele has a bone to pick with her.

Wilson, known for film’s like Bridesmaids and The Hustle, is now making waves with her new memoir Rebel Rising. From detailing cringey moments with The Brothers Grimsby co-star Sacha Baron Cohen to her “situationship” with a women’s tennis player, Wilson is leaving no stone unturned, including her relationship with the “Rolling in the Deep” singer. According to Wilson, Adele hates her for being compared to Wilson.

“Some actresses would get offended if I called them plus-size in this book, so I have to be careful with what I say,” Wilson said in her book. “This is why, I think, Adele hates me.”

“There was a moment when she was bigger, and some people would confuse us for one another … I am assuming, because to be fair I’ve never asked her,” Wilson added.

So the theory hasn’t been fully debunked, but Wilson claimed that, when the two crossed paths, Adele would always turn away from the Australian actor. Wilson alleged that the British singer didn’t “like being compared to ‘Fat Amy,'” referencing her scene-stealing Pitch Perfect character. Both singers’ appearances have changed over the years, and have been the topic of tabloids.

Wilson’s claims definitely had the internet raising its eyebrows. Some wondered why Wilson would write out the claims in her memoir, if she hadn’t confirmed with Adele that she, in fact, “hated” her.

Others were shocked at the thought of the two actresses being confused for each other. Spoiler alert: the two look nothing alike.

And then there were those who thought Adele’s “alleged” behavior, albeit comical, made sense to them.

Adele hasn’t responded yet, and honestly, might not. But here’s to hoping that “anything” between these two is just water under the bridge.
