UK, Hun?

‘Drag Race UK’ Is Back for a Fifth Season With Jaw-Dropping Guest Judges

Start your engines, Drag Race fans: RuPaul is headed back across the pond for a fifth season of Drag Race UK.

There’s no date set for the premiere, and the queens haven’t been announced yet either. But the full line-up of guest judges was released, along with a video where they each shared what they love most about Drag Race.

Fans are especially excited to see Heartstopper’s Yasmin Finney take a seat at the judges’ panel, and her bedazzled bra is already living up to expectations.

“I’m a guest judge and it feels out of this world!” Finney told the BBC. “I felt like I was on another planet during filming… Planet Joy!”

Another fan favorite is singer Alexandra Burke, who will play in the Snatch Game, in addition to judging. She has no shortage of hits that would make a killer lip sync — fingers crossed for “Broken Heels.”

“Oh my goodness, I had the best time ever being a part of the iconic Snatch Game!” Burke told the BBC. “I’m the biggest fan of RuPaul and the show. I’ve been desperate to appear on Drag Race, and so to be there was a real honor and I’m dreaming of being able to do it again and again!”

The other guest judges are comedian Aisling Bea, actor Cush Jumbo, designer Daphne Guinness, actor and TV host Joel Dommett, supermodel Kristen McMenamy, pop star Sophie Ellis-Bextor, and actor Suranne Jones.

Some other special guests who won’t be joining the panel include Edward Enninful, editor-in-chief of British Vogue, who will give the queens advice during a design challenge; TV icon Carol Vorderman, who will join Burke as a contestant in the Snatch Game; Karen Hauer of Strictly Come Dancing, who will help the queens prepare for the Rusical; and choreographer Claudimar Neto, who will lead the queens through their finale performance.

What else does the season have in store? Who’s to say — though fans are hopeful it will break some tropes that Drag Race UK has become known for, including relegating its Black queens to the role of lip sync assassin and sending Asian queens home in the Snatch Game.

However the season turns out, we’ll be seated for the best that UK drag has to offer.
